Who we are

SRS is a licensed, bonded, insured and incorporated general contractor that will design and build a project to fit your needs and your budget.  We take pride in our projects by creating seamless continuity to your existing home.  The character of an existing structure will be meticulously reproduced in an addition.  The scale and replication of details or key elements is of the utmost importance during construction.

SRS is a full service contractor.  We will discuss your needs and wants, view your situation, supply ideas and help create the design that will best suit you.  If needed we will create a complete set of drawings and pull permits as required.  Our employees will perform most of the work on your home.  However, SRS will provide subcontractors where their expertise is required.

Respect for the environment during a project is maintained by minimizing the impact to surrounding areas while incorporating your needs.  Also, environmentally safe products will be used when ever possible.

SRS has received the Claremont Architectural Commission's "Award of Excellence" for design and execution on a number of projects throughout the city.  Also, many of the projects SRS created have been showcased on Home Tours through different organizations.

  Our experience

SRS has been performing construction projects locally over 29 years.  The  projects have varied greatly in size and scope which is noted in the following list.

Room additions - single story, two story, multiple additions on one home, multiple additions on two homes for the same Client.

Attached and detached accessory structures (Granny Flats).  This include a detached two bedroom legal rental unit.Historic renovations of entire turn of the century homes and partial renovations of others.  Also, whole house remodels of mid-century, vintage and character homes.

Kitchen and bath remodels, enlargements and alterations.

Creative energy efficient lighting including natural lighting - skylights, clerestory roof systems and reflective chambers.

Garage additions, conversions, enlargements and new one that are detached.

Interior alterations, moving walls, recreating and adding support systems where needed. 

Wine cellars.

Functional designs for optimum use of attics, basements, breezeways or any other small areas that could benefit from space planning.

Outdoor rooms, pool rooms and patio rooms.

Changing the front appeal of your home by adding porch covers, siding, stucco, rock and brick work.

Patios, gazebos and privacy screening - solid covers, lattice, lath and open beam for plant support only.

Sheds and small out buildings.  Rebuilding of a home after the fires in the North end of our community.

Repairing water damaged homes.

Copper repipe throughout homes and buildings.  This includes putting the structure back to it's original state when finished.

Remodeling of commercial buildings, Doctor's offices and retail spaces.

SRS will perform their own labor in the following areas:  plumbing, electrical, concrete, framing, insulation, drywall, structural support systems, siding, most roofing, most painting, some tile work, some cabinetry, finish carpentry, doors and windows.
